Joe's Blog Joe's Blog Times are Changing Best to Keep Rolling

Go back to what makes you happy was the words of a marriage counselor in 2000. "Who's bike is that in the driveway?" was the words of my soon to be ex-wife. Some people have a way with words & some people hate everything .I am glad I took the advice from the counselor because I shelled out some dough thinking all this educated dude does is listen. When the high priced listener told me to go back to what made me happy it was a Harley that popped in my head immediatly.

Times changed fast from the courtdates, time with son & daughter, and my search for inner peace. My neighbors new right away that when I rode I was content. My kids knew Dad was happy as I shuttled them to their gymnastic, soccer, track or baseball events. I searched for inner peace and knew I would find it riding my Harley. I was about to make some radical changes as I knew I would find my inner peace in the mountains of Colorado.

My dilemma was leaving my kids & relying on a phone call everytime we needed to talk. I took that chance had a job waiting for me thru the union in Colorfull Colorado. So after the numerous divorce procedings & able to keep my leather jacketĀ  I packed up the F 250 & FXR onto the uhaul for an adventure I will never forget. Learning the grass isn't always greener came easy as the Ford lost a tranny(froze) job in Colorado was on hold for political reasons, all my phone calls to my kids were denied because my exwife lived in Candyland. I still had my Harley & more time to find my inner peace that is when I decided to make lemonade.

I loved the mountains and rode the hell out of my FXR all over the state. I was able to meet up with the coolest people in the world & yes they are bikers. One guy even helped me get the F250 running the way it should be. He knew his stuff & always had valuable info on bikes, broads & bars. I added 10,000 miles on the chrome odometer that month & found my inner peace I was looking for. That is when the union called & said are you ready to work. Hell yeah I was ready I had to put gas in the tank. I hired on to a company working on the big shacks in Telluride. Telluride is a great place that has it's share of people with money wanting to ski or enjoy the mountains of Colorado. The owner of the shop I worked for learned the trade in New Jersey. He liked my work & saw I rode in on the Harley, offered me the comforts of his home til we finished the 5 million dollar mineshaft that was a neighbor to Oprah Winfrey's ski resort. I never knew she skiied . So we finished up the million dollar mineshaft/ ski cabin & I was offered a job for life in Colorado.

At that very moment my daughter called my cell telling me she needs surgery because of a hernia from gymnastics. "Can you come home?" my daughter asked me. Of course I did. The bell went of as soon as I was offered a job for life inĀ  a trade I choose. But my life is always changing & always on a Harley. Inner peace followed me back & did I ever need it as besides denying my phone calls my ex decided on her own to deny me seeing my kids. The courts obviously saw different. My trip to find inner peace taught me a lot of valuable lessons. Some things can never be taken away like the Love for my children, my attitude of Living to Ride or my leather jacket.

My times changed eventually got me to start this website, change careers & do what I do best. Keep Rolling,
