Joe's Blog Joe's Blog A Harley is a terrible thing to waste

Seeing the story on Gypsy's Biker Bits definetly got me fired up. Reading about Jim Meehan's 1976 Harley getting stolen pissed me off the moment I saw what some SOB did to this 82 yr. old man from Harrington Maine. You see Jim has been riding since he was honorablly discharged from the Army in 1948. He bought what looks to be a 1976 FXB Superglide the year of our bicenntennial and has been riding with his friends every since. Jim was a commercial fisherman after his stint in the Army & a few years back because of arthritis told by the Doc not to ride. This is the waste of a Harley the dr. prescribed.

Jim the biker that he is put the Docs request on hold. Jim would take his senior citizen friends for a ride in the blue sidecar he attached to his ride.Jim's Harley moving down the Maine coast or countryside provided a lot more stories than a game of checkers with his friends. When Jim realized his bike was ripped off he stated"Riding is like breathing." That statement hit home with me & other bikers all over God's green earth got fired up.Jim's biggest fear is that his bikes pristine condition did not get ruined from those that stole it.

Our biker commounity is getting the word out as I write this blog. Many have stepped up to the plate including our member Mj Reynolds who has helped reach out to her community determined to get Jim Meehan's bike back. I have been in contact with Gypsy from Boston who knows how to take action for bikers. We all know Jim needs his 1976 FXE Superglide back. For now the power of the internet is in action so a Harley is not wasted for some scumbags greed.
